{"id":153,"date":"2009-02-06T16:39:55","date_gmt":"2009-02-06T23:39:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.knuetter.com\/christian\/?p=153"},"modified":"2009-06-02T16:19:05","modified_gmt":"2009-06-02T23:19:05","slug":"more-twitter-use-going-to-a-concert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.knuetter.com\/christian\/2009\/02\/06\/more-twitter-use-going-to-a-concert\/","title":{"rendered":"More Twitter use &#8211; Going to a concert?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.knuetter.com\/christian\/wp-content\/uploads\/p1010382.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-154 aligncenter\" title=\"p1010382\" src=\"http:\/\/www.knuetter.com\/christian\/wp-content\/uploads\/p1010382-600x449.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"359\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.knuetter.com\/christian\/wp-content\/uploads\/p1010382-600x449.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.knuetter.com\/christian\/wp-content\/uploads\/p1010382.jpg 737w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s another great use of Twitter.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/clarity.jimmyeatworld.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Jimmy Eat World<\/a> has a special web page that collects all Twitter data (ok.. tweets) that are relevant to <a href=\"http:\/\/tour.jimmyeatworld.com\/gigs\/1\" target=\"_blank\">each of their tour dates<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>What this means, is that a fan can post a tweet (following a pre-defined format) and their post will show up on the web site.\u00a0 They can additionally subscribe to the tweets, keeping up-to-date with what all of the other concert-goers are saying.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a pretty cool idea of taking a public event, which actually tends to be not particularly interactive when you think about it, and adds a level of community that hasn&#8217;t existed in the past.\u00a0 I mean, when was the last time that you really interacted with someone else going to a concert &#8211; either before or during (remember, you can tweet from your cell, posting updates during the performance).\u00a0 If they weren&#8217;t one of your friends that you were going with, you probably had very limited interaction (besides synchronized arm waving that is).<\/p>\n<p>Now think of the marketing opportunity &#8211; there&#8217;s a page with all of the people who are into this concert with a really easy way to communicate to them &#8211; and some of them aren&#8217;t even going because the shows are selling out *(need tickets?\u00a0 .. boy, too bad I&#8217;m not still working at StubHub &#8211; there&#8217;s another opportunity they&#8217;ll never take advantage of)*<\/p>\n<p>The more I&#8217;m checking out Twitter the more I&#8217;m impressed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><font size =-1>photo courtesy &#8220;Scamp&#8221; from the Jimmy Eat World website<font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here&#8217;s another great use of Twitter.
