{"id":128,"date":"2008-11-26T12:29:18","date_gmt":"2008-11-26T19:29:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.knuetter.com\/christian\/?p=128"},"modified":"2008-11-26T12:29:18","modified_gmt":"2008-11-26T19:29:18","slug":"assigning-smart-attributes-to-your-stuff","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.knuetter.com\/christian\/2008\/11\/26\/assigning-smart-attributes-to-your-stuff\/","title":{"rendered":"Assigning smart attributes to your stuff"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gizmine.com\/dynamismImages\/product\/mirrorgiz_lg.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"375\" height=\"355\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now this is pretty cool.<\/p>\n<p>I came across <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gizmine.com\/hmgz\/mirrorgiz.shtml\" target=\"_blank\">this device<\/a> in some random web browsing.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a device that can read RFID chips (tiny microchips that contain ID codes &#8211; think digital barcodes) and perform certain actions.<\/p>\n<p>What you do is attach an RFID chip to something, and when the sensor (they give it the unfortunate name Mir:ror) recognizes the ID chip, it does what you&#8217;ve told it to do.<\/p>\n<p>From the site:<\/p>\n<p><em>Examples of use are limitless: show your umbrella to a Mir:ror and it will give you weather forecasts; wave your keys on top of Mir:ror and it will send an email to your loved ones saying that you are back home safe; put your pill box on Mir:ror and it will recall you when you last took your medicine!<\/em> (their exclamation)<\/p>\n<p>This current product is perhaps a little clunky, but it&#8217;s a pretty good idea.\u00a0 Picking up an umbrella and getting the weather report is a lot easier than launching a browser, entering a website, etc.,<\/p>\n<p>Now if only I could figure out what those figurines are for..<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Now this is pretty cool.
